ACS to hire 100 support personnel in Lexington

- jjordan1@herald-leader.com

One of Lexington's largest employers, ACS, is adding 100 technical support jobs, bringing its Lexington workforce to 2,075, the company said Monday.

The positions are full-time and offer benefits, such as health insurance, said ACS spokesman Chris Gilligan. Pay will depend on experience and education. Some positions are supervisory.

The new employees will be based at the company's Lexington headquarters on Yorkshire Boulevard off Richmond Road.

Gilligan said the new employees will primarily support one ACS client, but the client cannot be identified.

Hiring begins immediately, and training is expected to begin within a few weeks. Candidates can apply at the Yorkshire location, Gilligan said.

ACS, or Affiliated Computer Services, is a Fortune 500 information technology and business outsourcing company, and has about 4,000 employees statewide, including many in call centers around the state.

The company says it is the sixth-largest private employer in Lexington and is one of the top 10 employers in Kentucky.

ACS is based in Dallas and has 65,000 employees in more than 100 countries. The stock is ACS and trades on the New York Stock Exchange.
