Dead Air Dennis, a disc jockey for WKQQ-100.1 FM, was suspended last week after making comments that station management deemed inappropriate.
"What those comments are and anything along those lines, obviously we can't comment because it's a personnel issue," said Michael Jordan, operations manager for station owner Clear Channel.
Dennis, whose real name is Dennis Dillon, could not be reached for comment.
Jordan said the station is evaluating the suspension and "playing it by ear" regarding a return.
Dillon has been with the station more than a decade, Jordan said. His noon to 6 p.m. slot is being taken over in the interim by Tony "TNT" Tilford, who had been on a special assignment within the company.
