Traffic report

Motorists can expect delays on New Circle Road near the Versailles Road interchange beginning at 8 p.m. Friday when the inner loop of New Circle will be reduced to one lane to repair the bridge deck surface.

The project will also require closing the ramps from New Circle Road to outbound Versailles Road and from inbound Versailles Road to the inner loop of New Circle Road.

The closures will be in place until 5 a.m. Monday. The bridge work will be performed over four weekends beginning at 8 p.m. Fridays and ending at 5 a.m. Mondays.

Traffic control will be switched from old traffic signals to new ones at Winchester Road's intersections with Walton and Delaware avenues at 9 a.m. Monday.

The following streets will be paved through Friday: Kenesaw Drive between Moss Drive and Hartland Parkway; East Tiverton Way between Wem Drive and Fox Harbour Drive; Vanderbilt Drive between Stanford Drive and the end of the street; Gladman Way between Man o' War Boulevard and Higbee Mill Road; Rockbridge Road between Fieldmoor Drive and Hartland Parkway; and West Edgebrook Drive between Brook Park and Farmview drives.

City crews will be sweeping streets in the residential areas around the University of Kentucky on Wednesday. Residents should avoid parking on the street during the posted hours.

The celebration of Mayfest will require the following alterations in traffic patterns downtown:

n Mill and Market streets will be closed from Second to Third streets from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.

n Mechanic Street will be closed from Market Street to Limestone from 9:30 a.m to 6 p.m. Saturday and 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.

n Third Street will be closed from Broadway to Upper Street from 5 p.m. Friday to 9 p.m. Sunday.

Major traffic impact

East Loudon Avenue will be closed between Winchester Road and Floyd Drive through Aug. 1 for roadway reconstruction. The suggested detour calls for local traffic to use side-street access to East Loudon from Seventh Street. Eastland Drive is also closed at Loudon.

East Hickman Road in Jessamine County will be closed from milepoint 5.43 to milepoint 5.83 for three or four weeks to make safety improvements to a curve just south of the Tates Creek Road intersection. The suggested detour is Tates Creek Road to Ky. 169.

The Blue Grass Parkway is reduced to one lane eastbound and westbound between mileposts 67 and 69 in Woodford County for a bridge replacement on Ky. 33. Expect delays on both roads.

Crews are working to widen and realign Liberty Road from Todds Road to Gerardi Road. Traffic is temporarily diverted at the west end of the project, shifting south. The speed limit through the project is 35 mph.

Shoulders and medians could be closed on both northbound and southbound Interstate 75/64 from mileposts 110 to 116 for overhead sign construction.

East Loudon Avenue will be closed between Shropshire Avenue and Meadow Lane through Oct. 3 for street reconstruction. A detour is in place.

Significant traffic impact

The left lane and pull-off area of West Vine Street will be blocked between South Broadway and South Mill Street from 8 a.m. to noon Monday to install equipment on a hotel roof.

The northbound lane of Clays Mill Road will be blocked at Vincent Way through Tuesday to replace the sidewalk.

One lane at a time of Clays Mill Road will be blocked between Graves Drive and Cromwell Way through Tuesday for pavement repairs.

The right lane of South Broadway will be blocked at Twelfth Street through Thursday to cap the old water main and make it an inactive line.

The right outbound lane of Nicholasville Road will be blocked between Gazette Avenue and Conn Terrace through May 12 for construction work.

The right westbound lane of West Main Street will be blocked between Algonquin and Felix streets through May 13 for construction work.

The westbound lane of West Fourth Street will be blocked between North Broadway and Bourbon Avenue through May 15 for work on fire hydrants and fire service.

Lanes of Richmond Road may be blocked at Chinoe Road through Friday to install signals.

One lane at a time of Southland Drive will be blocked between Regency Road and Eastway Drive through Friday to paint the railroad bridge.

Rosemont Garden will be blocked as needed between Nicholasville Road and Pin Oak Drive through Friday for storm sewer repairs.

The southbound lanes of University Drive will be blocked between Huguelet and Cooper drives through 6 p.m. Friday for construction work.

The outbound right lane of Versailles Road will be blocked at various locations and on all side streets between South Forbes Road and Oxford Circle through June 30 for utility work.

Lanes of Nicholasville Road will be blocked as needed, but not more than two at a time, between State Street and University Avenue from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. through Friday for construction work.

The right-turn lane and sidewalk area of Cooper Drive will be blocked between University Drive and South Limestone through Friday for construction work.

Algonquin Street will be closed to through traffic between West Main and West Short streets through May 16 for construction work.

One lane at a time of Meadow Lane will be blocked between Highland Park Drive and Gay Place from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. through May 16 for utility work.

Meadow Lane will be closed between East Loudon Avenue and Highland Park Drive through May 30 for sewer work.

Moderate traffic impact

Lanes of Clays Mill Road will be blocked as needed between Graviss Court and West New Circle Road through May 30 for water service work.

The eastbound lane of Higbee Mill Road will be blocked at Clays Mill Road from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. through Tuesday for pavement repairs.

Rand Avenue will be blocked as needed at Inman Drive from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. through Wednesday to install a sewer line.

Cedar Street will be blocked at Lawrence Street as required from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. through May 13 for waterline work.

The sidewalk in front of 733 West Main Street will be closed between Old Georgetown Street and Newtown Pike through May 16 to construct a retaining wall.

Goodloe Street will be closed between Midland Avenue and Ann Street through June 30 to reconstruct the street.

Leader Avenue will be closed between South Limestone and Press Avenue through Jan. 29, 2010, for construction of UK's Pharmacy Building.
