Fireworks for Fourth

”Evening with the Lexington Philharmonic“ will begin at 6:30 p.m. with gates opening at 5 p.m. Friday at the Woodford County Park, in Versailles. The event features activities honoring the Bicentennial Birthday Celebration for President Abraham Lincoln, pre-concert entertainment by the Woodford Community Choir, the Wind Riders Skydiving Exhibition Team and a fireworks display. Guest conductor of the Philharmonic will be Jay Flippin. Ferrell Wellman will serve as emcee. Admission is $5, $6 at the gate. Tickets can be purchased at any bank in Woodford County or at the Chamber of Commerce, Main Street. Concessions will be available. Call (859) 873-9540.

Businesses get clean air kits

Clean air regulation kits are available at the Woodford County Health Department, 229 North Main Street, for all Woodford County businesses. The free kit contains a copy of the regulation, two no-smoking door decals and two wall signs. Business owners may pick up a kit or call (859) 873-4541 to have the kit mailed.
