Leading American sire Storm Cat, for years acknowledged as the most expensive stallion in the world, has been retired at 25. Still in good health, Storm Cat will remain at Overbrook Farm in Lexington, where he has spent his entire stallion career. He commanded a stud fee of $500,000 from 2002 until this year -- earning millions of dollars in fees in a single season. This year, Overbrook lowered it to $300,000, still one of the highest anywhere.
