1 man dead, another jailed in Paris

PARIS — A Paris man is under arrest and charged with murder following a stabbing early Saturday.

Paris police said they arrested Billy R. Martin, 43, of 2327 Glenview Drive at his residence about 11:30 a.m. Officers had gone to the address to execute a search warrant, according to the police department.

Martin was lodged in the Bourbon County Detention Center.

Police identified the victim as Derek D. Stockton, 30.

Police said they received a call about 2:15 a.m. Saturday stating there had been a stabbing at a Shannon Road address in Paris. Officers arrived there to find Stockton's body.

He had been stabbed three times in the torso, police said.
