Authorities have identified the people involved in a fatal wreck that stopped traffic on U.S. 27 for hours in Garrard County early Monday.
Killed in the three-vehicle crash was David Ballard, 52, of Stanford, whose Triumph motorcycle was struck by a car. Ballard was wearing a crash helmet, Kentucky State Police said. Ballard was pronounced dead at the scene.
Rita Pradhan, 24, of Danville, was traveling south on U.S. 27, when her 2003 Nissan ran off the right shoulder of the highway, police said. She overcorrected, swerving into the northbound lane and striking Ballard's oncoming motorcycle, police said.
Pradhan's car then collided with the third vehicle, a northbound Toyota driven by Sontina Curry, 31, of Nicholasville.
Curry and Pradhan were not injured, according to police.
