Paris police have determined that a man found dead by an 11-year-old boy Friday night in a wooded area in Bourbon County committed suicide.
Bourbon County sheriff's deputies were called to a small wooded area just off Parkway Drive in Paris around 8:30 p.m. Paris Police Chief Tim Gray said the boy's parents called the police after he told them that he had discovered the body. An autopsy performed Saturday showed that the man committed suicide by asphyxiation, Gray said.
The identity of the man will not be released until Tuesday, when results from further tests will be complete, Gray said.
Gray said a police chaplain was called Friday night and spent time with the 11-year-old boy. "He seemed to be handling it well," Gray said.
