Russell County boy burned playing with fire

A Russell County boy was in critical condition Tuesday night at the Kentucky Children's Hospital after suffering burns to his chest and face.

Caleb Farris, 5, was burned Sunday in the Springs Mobile Home Park in Russell Springs. The boy was with a group of kids who were playing with bottle that had a liquid accelerant inside, according to a Kentucky State Police press release.

The accelerant was poured into a container held by another boy. When it was lit, it caught fire scaring the boy, who threw the container up in the air.

It landed on Caleb, causing second and third-degree burns, according to state police.
