Police are investigating a woman's claim that she was abducted Friday near the University of Kentucky campus and raped and then dropped off in Jessamine County.
The woman was found by a Jessamine County Sheriff's deputy walking near the county line on U.S. 68 about 3:45 a.m.
The woman reported she was abducted from Elizabeth Street near Waller Avenue about 2 a.m.
She did not recognize her attacker, whom she described as a heavy-set man with tan skin, possibly biracial, with a gap in his teeth. She said he drove her in a dark, full-size pickup to a remote location in Jessamine, where he assaulted her.
On Friday evening, police released a composite sketch of the suspect.
Also, University of Kentucky police issued a campus safety advisory, warning students about the incident.
Anyone with information is asked to call Lexington police at (859) 258-3700 or Bluegrass Crime Stoppers (859) 253-2020.
