Animal control officer accused of sex abuse resigns

A Bourbon County Animal Control officer has resigned, a week after he was charged with sexual abuse after a woman reported he grabbed her nipple when he returned to her home after taking her dog.

Floyde M. Campbell, 44, of Millersburg was also charged with second-degree burglary and second-degree official misconduct. Campbell's resignation letter was read in a fiscal court meeting Thursday evening.

Campbell had been suspended with pay since his Sept. 4 arrest. His resignation went into effect Friday.
