A motorist in Lewis County died Saturday after her car was struck by a tractor-trailer trying to avoid a rear-end collision with another vehicle, Kentucky State Police said.
Rhonda C. King, 37, of Maysville, was pronounced dead at the scene near Tollesboro.
King was driving a 2005 Chevy Equinox south on the AA Highway and was attempting to make a left turn onto Garrad Road at 5:42 p.m. James Lincoln, Jonesborough, Tenn. was driving a tractor-trailer south on the AA Highway when a vehicle stopped in front of him. Lincoln veered into the northbound lane and struck King's vehicle in the driver's side door as it turned, state police said.
