A Rockcastle County woman died after her car hit a guard rail, then crossed the center line into oncoming traffic in northern Pulaski County Sunday morning.
Scarlett Jones, 25, of Brodhead, was driving north on Ky. 461 about 9:30 a.m. when her 2000 Chevrolet drove off the road, bounced off the guard rail and slammed into a 2001 Toyota pickup truck driving south, according to the Pulaski County sheriff's department.
Jones was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Toyota, Vincent Pickens, 52, of Richmond, and a passenger, Glenna Jones of Berea, were taken to the University of Kentucky Medical Center where both were in critical condition Sunday night.
The sheriff's department is still investigating the accident.
