Two former inmates of the federal prison in Martin County have been indicted on charges that they fatally beat and choked a fellow inmate in 2006.
Darryl Marcus Milburne, 26, also known as "Beast," of Philadelphia, and Dwaune Gravely, 33, also known as "Deuce," of Bridgeton, N.J., were indicted on charges of murder, assault, conspiracy to murder and evidence tampering in the death of Shamoni Peterson, 32, of Washington D.C.
At the time, all three were at Big Sandy penitentiary in Inez.
A federal grand jury returned the indictment in Ashland.
If convicted, Milburne and Gravely could face a maximum of life imprisonment.
Milburne is now an inmate at the federal prison in McCreary County, according to the federal Bureau of Prisons Web site. Gravely is at the Federal Correctional Institution in Manchester, the Web site says.
Their appearances in U.S. District Court in Ashland have not been scheduled.
