Two killed in Casey County crash

A 17-year-old Springfield, Ohio, teen and a 21-year-old Dunnville, Ky., man were killed in a three-car accident Saturday afternoon in Casey County.

Francisco Javier Marcial, 21, of Dunnville was traveling southbound on U.S. 127 about 12:30 p.m. when he struck Jeffrey Stafford, 34, of Russell Springs, who was stopped in traffic. After striking Stafford's 1998 Dodge truck, Marcial's 2001 Chevy crossed the center line and struck a 2006 Toyota operated by Hannah Young, 17, of Springfield. Young was pronounced dead at the scene.

Passengers in Young's car — Edith Young, 51, Adam Burns, 17, and Keenan Young, 13, all of Springfield — were taken to the Russell County Hospital, where they were treated and released. Stafford was also treated and released.

Marcial was also taken to the Russell County Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Monica Zuniga, 13, a passenger in Marcial's vehicle, was air-lifted to the University of Kentucky Medical Center, where she was listed in critical condition on Sunday.

Passengers in all the vehicles were using seat belts, Kentucky State Police said.
