Frankfort father jailed until trial

- aclark@herald-leader.com

The Frankfort father who allegedly fled to Mexico with his 2-year-old daughter will remain in jail until his trial, Magistrate Judge James B. Todd ruled Monday in federal court.

Miles Woodside was indicted earlier this month on charges of international parental kidnapping. Police said Woodside picked up Breanna Woodside from her mother at the Frankfort police station at 6:30 a.m. Jan. 26 and was supposed to return the girl by 4:30 p.m. the same day.

When he didn't show, officials issued an an Amber Alert. According to the indictment, Woodside stole a 1997 Lincoln Town Car and drove it from Kentucky to Tennessee and Alabama. Woodside then allegedly took his daughter to Mexico. He was arrested March 3 in Monterrey, Mexico.

Woodside's trial is scheduled to begin June 9.
