Man dies after trying to outrun police

- bmusgrave@herald-leader.com

A Harrodsburg man was killed early Sunday morning after he tried to outrun a Junction City police officer who was responding to a domestic violence call at a Junction City home.

According to Kentucky State Police, David K. Bugg, 44, was fleeing the scene of the domestic violence call when Junction City police officer David Prather followed Bugg's 2002 Jeep Liberty on Ky. 2141.

Prather followed Bugg into Lincoln County, where Bugg's Jeep went off the road, through a plank fence, into a small creek and eventually came to rest in a field. Bugg was declared dead at the scene. An autopsy has been scheduled.
