Three-vehicle crash kills man, 37

An Eastern Kentucky man was killed Saturday in a three-vehicle crash in Letcher County.

Kentucky State Police said Mark Baker Jr., 37, was driving north on the Whitesburg bypass section of Ky. 15 when his 1996 Ford Aspire crossed the center line.

Baker struck the rear of a 2002 Mitsubishi Eclipse and then struck a 2000 Chevrolet Venture van head-on.

Baker was later pronounced dead, while the driver of the Venture, Cathy Taylor, 50, of Mallie was airlifted to a Tennessee hospital for treatment.

All the people involved were wearing seat belts, police said.
