A Leslie County woman was killed and her 6-year-old son was injured in a crash Monday, state police said.
The woman was identified as Cathy J. Hammons, 36, of Stinnett.
Hammons was driving south on Ky. 66 in southern Clay County when she lost control of her car on wet pavement. Her car ran off the road and turned over, state police said in a news release.
Hammons and the boy were not wearing safety belts and were thrown from the car, state police said.
Hammons died at the scene. Her son, whose name police did not release, was flown to the University of Kentucky Medical Center for treatment.
The accident was reported at 1:51 p.m. Monday, police said.
