A 65-year-old Fort Mitchell man died after a single-vehicle crash Saturday afternoon on New Circle Road at Newtown Pike.
Paul Meyers was pronounced dead about 1:44 p.m. at the University of Kentucky Hospital. No one else was involved in the crash.
Lexington police said the accident occurred about 1:15 p.m. when Meyers, who was driving a 2008 Ford Fusion, was traveling on Newtown Pike toward the New Circle Road ramp. Meyers continued, struck a sign board and eventually a guard rail. After striking the guard rail, the vehicle became airborne and crossed the entrance ramp from Newtown Pike to the outer loop of New Circle. The vehicle continued to travel through the grass approximately 100 more feet.
Meyers was wearing his seat belt, according to police.
