Versailles cop, boyfriend arrested

Charged with violating protective orders against each other

VERSAILLES — A Versailles police officer and her live-in boyfriend are free on bond after they were arrested Monday night on charges of violating a court's emergency protective order.

Nicole A. Paisley, 36, and her boyfriend, Ronald J. Boles, 38, both of Versailles, were held in the Woodford County jail Monday night. Both later posted bonds and were released, according to Jailer Gary Gilkison.

Paisley and Boles had both sought and were granted domestic violence orders against each other following incidents May 30, according to court documents. The orders were scheduled to expire Thursday.

Paisley wrote in her complaint that Boles had spit in her face and forced her to the ground and held her there by her neck.

"I have been asking him to leave for months, and every time I ask him to leave, he becomes more violent," Paisley wrote.

Boles wrote in his complaint that Paisley had verbally threatened his life, smashed wine glasses and later "picked up a chair on the balcony and started to throw it over the handrail with me under the balcony in front of her family."

Boles wrote that Paisley "threatened ... that she was a police officer and nothing I say matters and she could do whatever she likes."

On Monday, Versailles police saw the couple talking in the front yard of the home they share, in violation of the court order. Boles told police that he and Paisley had been together during the week before the arrest. They apparently had been trying to work things out, having dinner together and picking up a kitten from a neighbor, according to the citation.

The two were arrested shortly after 8 p.m. Monday.
