McCreary's drug roundup

- bestep@herald-leader.com

A woman allegedly delivering pain pills to sell illegally in McCreary County got a surprise Friday — she got to an accused drug dealer's house minutes before police came to arrest him, according to the Lake Cumberland Area Drug Task Force.

The woman, 27-year-old Andrea Henderson, allegedly transported OxyContin pills from Michigan to the McCreary County dealer, said David Gilbert, director of the task force.

She was arrested, too, on charges of drug trafficking.

The task force capped a yearlong undercover investigation in McCreary County with a roundup Friday, arresting 28 of 34 people charged by later afternoon.

Many of the pills being sold illegally in Southern Kentucky come from Michigan or pain clinics in South Florida, Gilbert said.
