Man, 84, accused of sexually abusing Frankfort nursing home patient

- shopkins@herald-leader.com

An 84-year-old registered sex offender has been arrested on a charge of sexual abuse of a woman at a Frankfort nursing home, police said.

Frankfort police received a complaint Thursday from Bradford Square Rehabilitation & Nursing Center on Lawrenceburg Road that a visitor had sexually abused a patient there.

Harrison Blankenship of Versailles was charged with first-degree sexual abuse of an 87-year-old woman for subjecting her to sexual contact without her consent, police said.

In July 1995, Blankenship was convicted of the rape of a 13-year-old girl.

Blankenship is being held at the Franklin County jail. He pleaded not guilty to the charge Monday and is scheduled to appear in court for a preliminary hearing on July 7.
