A 9-year-old girl who had been riding a mini bike on a gravel road in Scott County was taken to the University of Kentucky Hospital Monday after a head-on collision with a pickup truck.
The child, who police did not identify, was riding the mini bike east on Pollitt Lane in Sadieville. She was "not paying attention," according to a state police press release, and the mini bike collided with a 2002 Ford pickup truck driven by Timothy R. Stewart, 50, about 5:40 p.m. The girl was thrown off the bike.
The girl's condition was not available. Police said she was wearing a helmet.
State Trooper Ronald Turley said Tuesday that no charges are expected to be filed.
