Trial date set for Lexington man accused of killing his infant in 2007

- krodgers@herald-leader.com

A Fayette Circuit Court judge has set a trial date for a Lexington man accused of killing his 2-month-old daughter in 2007.

During a status hearing Friday, Fayette Circuit Judge Ernesto Scorsone scheduled Michael Lee Reed's trial for Dec 14.

Reed, 21, is accused of killing his daughter, Brionna Brown.

Investigators say that police received a call on March 26, 2007 concerning an unresponsive child at the Prall Place Apartments on Winnie Drive. Officers took Brionna to University of Kentucky Hospital, where she was treated for head injuries. She died from her injuries the next day.

Reed was indicted by a Fayette County grand jury in May 2007, and is currently in custody at the Fayette County jail.
