One dies when ejected from bed of truck

A one-vehicle accident in Lee County on Saturday involving a pickup truck resulted in the death of one of five people who were riding in the bed of the truck.

Daniel McIntosh, 19, of Beattyville, was dead at the scene after he was ejected from the truck bed. The other four riding in the truck bed, another passenger riding in the cab, and the driver received minor injuries, according to Kentucky State Police at the Richmond post.

The accident occurred just after 4:30 p.m. on White Ash Road when driver Josh Hacker, 20, of Clay City, lost control of the 1998 Dodge Ram. The vehicle struck an earthen embankment and overturned. All five of those riding in the truck bed were ejected, police said.
