A Prestonsburg man was killed when the car he was driving ran off the road on Goose Creek Road in Floyd County.

Herman Meade, 55, was traveling north on Goose Creek Road in a Chevy Lumina about 10 a.m. Tuesday when he ran off the southbound shoulder, overcorrected and went over an embankment, Kentucky State Police said. The car overturned, and Meade, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected from the car, police said.

Meade was taken to St. Joseph hospital in Martin, where he died.
