Kevin Galloway
Height, weight: 6-7, 215
Class: Junior Hometown: Sacramento, Calif.
Role: Whether or not he wins the starting point guard position, he'll see plenty of minutes.
Gillispie says: "He's more athletic than I imagined. I think he's going to grow into being really good out there. He's done nothing but win, pretty much."
Is there kind of a culture shock here for a California guy? Oh, yes, it's a little different from where I come from. It's a lot colder for one. (laughs) The people are great here, though.
Is there anything else that you really miss about California? Just the weather, really. The weather was great. Other than that, everything's fine.
You guys probably don't see it get down to 50 degrees much? No. Especially not around this time. The sun alone heats you up.
Any difference in other things, like the food? Not too much. I pretty much eat everything.
Night life? Pretty much the same I guess. I don't go out that much.
You played at Southern Cal for a year. Any differences between that program and Kentucky? Just mainly that being a football school and this being predominantly a basketball school. The football players got a lot of love at SoCal, and basketball players get a lot of love here.
That's good for you, right? Oh, yeah. Right place.
So you were in Idaho for a year. What's life in Idaho like? Pretty good. It was a good experience. Small town. People really love basketball there as well. Great community atmosphere.
Is there anything weird that happened to you in Idaho? Nothing weird. Just a couple of good experiences. Getting to be around a couple of different people.
