The company that manages University of Kentucky's prescription benefit program launched an investigation early last month after the company received an anonymous letter from a person requesting money and threatening to put customers' personal information on the Internet.

Express Scripts received the extortion letter in October, which included the social security numbers, addresses, dates of birth and, in some cases, prescription information of 75 customers, according to the company's Web site.

The company notified the FBI, which is investigating, and the customers have also been contacted. Company officials say they are not aware of any misuse of member's information.

No UK employees were on the list. University officials released an email alert to make employees aware of the situation. Officials said they would notify employees of any future developments.
