A Morgan County couple were killed Thursday afternoon when the car they were in was struck by another vehicle.

Donald Morris, 68, and his wife, Jean Morris, 62, were pronounced dead at the crash scene on Ky. 519 about 13 miles north of West Liberty, according to a Kentucky State Police press release.

The crash occurred a little after 1 p.m. when Nakita Oakley, 19, of West Liberty, lost control of her northbound 2001 Dodge Neon. She slid into the southbound lane and struck a 2000 Chevrolet Blazer and then struck the Morris' Oldsmobile Cutlass.

Oakley was taken to the University of Kentucky hospital, where she was in serious condition Thursday afternoon, according to state police.
