NICHOLASVILLE — The Pike County Coroner's Office has identified three people killed Tuesday night in a multiple-vehicle wreck on U.S. 23 at Green Meadows in Pikeville.

Police said the wreck occurred about 10 p.m., when a northbound vehicle crossed the median, colliding with another vehicle. Debris from the crash struck a third vehicle, police said.

Ernest Johnson, 47, of Pikeville; Andrew Smith, 41, of Dwarf; and Andrew Smith, 7, of Pikeville, died in the crash, Deputy Coroner Zeb Hampton said.

At least three other people were injured in the crash and taken to area hospitals.

No more details about the wreck were released.
