Call center opens in Lexington

City and economic development officials announced Wednesday that Automobile BDC, an off-site Internet department for car dealerships, has opened a call center on West Short Street in downtown Lexington.

The call center will employ 75 workers full-time and includes a capital investment of $100,000, according to Commerce Lexington.

Automobile BDC allows car dealerships to outsource their Internet needs with Automobile BDC setting up sales appointments based on customer e-mails, as well as assisting dealers with online marketing.

The average hourly wage at the company will be $12.50.
