Baseball commissioner Bud Selig made more than all but three of his sport's players in 2007.

Selig received a raise of about $3 million to nearly $17.5 million that year, according to Major League Baseball's latest tax return.

In 2007, the only players who received higher cash compensation were Yankees Alex Rodriguez ($23 million), Derek Jeter ($22 million) and Jason Giambi ($21.5 million).

Cubs make two trades

The Cubs traded one-time playoff starter Rich Hill to the Orioles for a player to be named Monday. They also made a deal with Oakland, sending reliever Michael Wuertz to the Athletics for a pair of minor-leaguers — outfielder Rich Robnett and infielder Justin Sellers.

Reds: Catcher Humberto Cota agreed to a minor-league contract Monday with Cincinnati, which lost another catcher, Ryan Jorgensen, to retirement. The 29-year-old Cota batted .233 with 12 homers and 61 RBI in seven seasons with Pittsburgh.

Braves: First baseman Casey Kotchman (.272 with 14 homers and 74 RBI last season) agreed to a one-year contract worth $2,885,000.

Rockies: Right-hander Josh Fogg, 2-7 with the Reds last season, agreed to a minor-league contract with Colorado.
