A Versailles man has been charged with voyeurism after allegedly videotaping a customer at a Lexington tanning salon.

A woman told police that she entered a tanning booth at Tan Zone on Waller Avenue about 8:30 p.m. June 3 and undressed. She looked up and saw "a hand over the wall holding a black item she thought was a cell phone with a silver camera lens," according to court documents.

The woman said she responded to the intrusion by saying "What the ...?", and at that point, "the suspect pulled the camera back, and stated he was sorry," the documents state.

Police said that when they interviewed Charles David Curtis Strange, 20, he admitted to them that he had climbed a ladder and videotaped the woman with his cell phone.

Strange was arrested Monday afternoon at the salon. He pleaded not guilty at his arraignment Tuesday.
