Miller, Mack make U19 national team

Darius Miller of the University of Kentucky and Shelvin Mack of Butler will be packing their bags for New Zealand in a few days.

After three days of tryouts in Colorado Springs, Colo., Miller and Mack were both selected to the USA U19 National basketball team.

The 12-man team, coached by Jamie Dixon of Pittsburgh, will continue practicing at the Olympic Training Center before leaving June 25 for the world championships.

Joining Miller, a former Mason County star and Mr. Basketball in 2008, and Mack, a former Bryan Station star, on the USA team are DeAngelo Casto of Washington State, Seth Curry of Duke, Ashton Gibbs of Pittsburgh, Gordon Hayward of Butler, Arnett Moultrie of UTEP, John Shurna of Northwestern, Tyshawn Taylor of Kansas, Howard Thompkins of Georgia, Klay Thompson of Washington State and Terrico White of Mississippi.
