Driver arrested near Frankfort after police chase

- krodgers@herald-leader.com

An Ohio man was arrested late Sunday after leading Kentucky State Police in a car chase that ended on U.S. 127 in Franklin County.

Police said they responded to a report of a hit-and-run collision and located David Lahmrer, 36, as he was exiting Interstate 64 West. Lahmrer refused to stop, and the short chase ensued, according to a police report.

Lahmrer, of Cincinnati, then refused to comply with further police instructions, police said. Officers used a Taser on him during the arrest. He was treated and released from Frankfort Regional Medical Center.

Lahmrer was charged with fleeing, DUI, resisting arrest, wanton endangerment and leaving the scene of a collision. He was taken to the Franklin County Regional Jail.
