Shelbyville man dies in wreck

A Shelbyville man died and five other people were injured in a crash in Spencer County Friday afternoon.

Demond E. Board, 34, was driving north on Ky. 55 in a Chevrolet Malibu at 12:48 p.m. when he crossed the center line and hit a Chevrolet Suburban head-on, state police said.

Board, who was not wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The five occupants of the Suburban were taken to the University of Louisville Hospital and Kosair Children's Hospital. They included the driver, Gerry R. Boston, 46, Tammy M. Boston, 45, a 4-year-old girl, a 10-year-old boy and a 12-year-old boy. All are from Louisville.
