The death of a 4-year-old boy from Lincoln County is being investigated as a homicide.

Nathaniel Knox died at 4:48 p.m. Saturday at the University of Kentucky Hospital of injuries sustained July 25 in Stanford, according to a press release from the Fayette County coroner's office.

The coroner's office said the cause of death was blunt force trauma. An autopsy is scheduled for Sunday in Frankfort.

The Lincoln County Sheriff's Department is investigating. Hearne Funeral Home in Stanton is in charge of arrangements.
