The entire Lexington Division of Police will complete training this month to improve relations with visitors to the region.

The division's involvement in the 41/2-hour Bluegrass Tourism Ambassador Program is expected to help prepare officers for the visitors expected for the World Equestrian Games in 2010, according to a news release from the Lexington Convention and Visitors Bureau.

The program trains and certifies volunteers and employees who have firsthand exposure to tourists. Participants include staff members at hotels, restaurants and bars, taxi drivers and employees at area attractions, the release said.
