2 charged with intimidating a witness, jury tampering at sodomy trial

SALYERSVILLE — Two people were charged with jury tampering and intimidating a witness during a sexual-abuse and sodomy trial in Magoffin County, Kentucky State Police said.

During the trial of Chester Dean Allen, three jurors notified Judge Kimberly Childers that they had been intimidated by a relative of the defendant, police said in a press release.

Allen's son, Jarred Allen, 18, was arrested at the courthouse and charged with jury tampering.

Gladys Allen, 63, of Puncheon Creek, was arrested at the courthouse and charged with threatening Commonwealth's Attorney Graham Marcum.
