Officials have identified the driver in a fatal car crash Tuesday morning on Lansdowne Drive near Zandale Drive.

Christopher L. Bunyassi, 27, of Lexington died of multiple blunt force trauma when he lost control of a 2005 Chevrolet TrailBlazer and hit a large utility pole.

The impact split the SUV in two.

His passenger, Traci Adkins, 28, of Lexington, was thrown from the vehicle. She and Bunyassi were pronounced dead at the scene. Neither was wearing a seat belt.
