A leaking sewer force main at Liberty Road and Star Shoot Parkway has been repaired.

Mark York, a spokesman for the city's Division of Water Quality, said the repair, which began at 11 p.m. Wednesday, was completed before 9 a.m. Thursday.

During the repair, sewage arriving at the North Elkhorn Pump Station received only partial treatment before flowing into North Elkhorn Creek. York said he did not yet have information on how much sewage was released, or on the results of water testing in the creek.

The leak, discovered Tuesday, was the ninth in the last dozen years for the troublesome pipe, the second in a couple of weeks.
