Brooks treated for skin cancer

October 1, 2009

Kentucky Coach Rich Brooks had surgery for skin cancer on his lower leg on Wednesday.

UK spokesman Tony Neely called it "a simple procedure," and Brooks was on the practice field Wednesday.

Brooks, 68, did not mention his surgery at practice, but he posted a message on his Twitter account that said, in part:

"Had a skin cancer cut out of my lower leg. Old age is not much fun."
