Kentucky Coach John Calipari and his son, Bradley, decided to go on a camping trip Friday night with hundreds, if not thousands, of their new-found friends.

Calipari went to the Memorial Coliseum/Joe Craft Center complex to camp out with UK fans, many of whom have been at the site since Wednesday waiting for Saturday morning's distribution of Big Blue Madness tickets.

When asked why he decided to camp out, Calipari said, "Because my wife is out of town."

The UK coach wasn't sure where he and his son would pitch their tent.

"We brought a tent and two sleeping bags," he said. "They'll set it up somewhere."

Before pitching the tent, Calipari and his staff sat at tables outside the entrance to the Joe Craft Center. A long line of UK fans got autographs and posed for pictures with the coach.

Among the items Calipari signed were basketballs, caps, t-shirts, a pizza box, a construction helmet, yearbooks and the back of a wheelchair.
