A 64-year- old Paris woman died Friday in a car accident off Highway 627 in Bourbon County, Bourbon County Deputy Coroner Dee Gee Ison said.

Mary Mitchell was a passenger in a car driven by her granddaughter, who was treated for injuries that were not life threatening, Ison said Saturday.

Ison declined to identify the granddaughter. Bourbon County sheriff's officials could not be reached for comment.

Ison confirmed that the granddaughter lost control of the car, which ran over an embankment and crashed through a fence before landing in a field.
