Kyrie Irving, one of several top recruits who attended Kentucky's Big Blue Madness last weekend, committed to Duke on Thursday.

Irving announced his decision on ESPNU's Recruiting Insider. The 6-foot-1, 165-pound senior is Scout.com's No. 5-ranked player and No. 2-ranked point guard in the class of 2010. Rivals.com ranks Irving No. 9 nationally and No. 4 among point guards.

Irving chose the Blue Devils over UK and Texas A&M. He attends St. Patrick High School in Elizabeth, N.J., and is teammates with Michael Gilchrist, who is the consensus No. 1 player in the class of 2011 and another Kentucky target.

Irving attended Big Blue Madness last Friday with Gilchrist and fellow UK recruits Tobias Harris and Achraf Yacoubou. Harris, a senior, is still making college visits. Yacoubou, a junior, committed to Villanova on Wednesday night.

Six other recruits in Scout.com's top 20 have Kentucky listed among their final schools. Stacey Poole Jr., a 6-foot-5 guard/forward from Jacksonville, Fla., is the Cats' only commitment from the class of 2010.

Players are eligible to sign with schools on Nov. 11.
