Six associates in the Harshaw Trane Lexington office have received the Certified Energy Manager designation, recognizing their expertise in a variety of specialized energy, power and green facilities industry areas. The individuals granted this designation by the Association of Energy Engineers are: Chris Ducas, Dawn Ecklar, Matt Ihle, Scott Sandberg, Jim Sparks and Eric Wilson.

The Lexington-Fayette County Environmental Commission has awarded its 39th annual Business and Citizen Awards to the following: Billy Yates, Pedal Power Bike Shop, for going the extra mile in promoting Bike Lexington and other bike projects; Bob Wiseman, UK Sustainability and Environmental Program projects; Historic Western Suburbs, neighborhood environmental initiatives; Jim Embry, community environmental issues; Kentucky Department of Military Affairs in conjunction with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet for the Bluegrass Station Stream Restoration Project; Lexington Housing Authority, Bluegrass Aspendale redevelopment; Department of Environmental Quality, neighborhood community and sustainability grant programs for environmental projects; Scott Southall, CDP Engineering, Good Foods Market rain garden; Speedway/SuperAmerica for Recycling at the Pump; Wal-Mart for its recycling and conservation efforts.

Ann McDonald, broker of Coldwell Banker McMahan offices in Winchester Georgetown and Richmond and a member of the Lexington-Bluegrass Association of Realtors, has been named the Kentucky Association of Realtors' 2009 Realtor of the Year.

Nancy Stone, executive director of the Jessamine County Chamber of Commerce, has been named the 2009 Executive of the Year for Kentucky by the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce executives.
