Car's driver jailed after crash with school bus

- jwarren@herald-leader.com

A school bus wreck in Casey County Thursday led to the arrest of a man wanted in Ohio, authorities said.

Police said Matthew Hall was arrested outside Liberty shortly after a car collided with a school bus and then was driven away.

A small child and two Head Start employees riding in the bus were taken to the hospital for examination, but they weren't seriously injured, police said.

Officers said Hall and a passenger, Patrick O'Bryant, were arrested about five minutes after the crash when they stopped at a convenience store.

Hall was being held Friday in the Casey County jail because he was wanted on a fugitive warrant from Ohio, and he faces several charges stemming from the bus crash, jail officials said. O'Bryant has been released on bail, officials said.

An investigation by the Casey County sheriff's department and the Liberty police department was continuing.
