The McDonald's near E. New Circle Road was robbed early Sunday evening of an undisclosed amount of money after a man showed a pistol to the manager.

Described as a white man with long brown hair and wearing a gray hoodie, the suspect asked the manager to put the money in a McDonald's bag. The manager did as he was told, said Lexington police Lt. Chris Van Brackel.

Canines followed the scent of the man to a Taco Bell where police found the McDonald's bag. The scent was lost from there.

Police are continuing to look for the robber.
