George Hornsby Jr., 49, of Richmond died after being hit by a train Tuesday night, Madison County Coroner Jimmy Cornelison said.
The incident happened on Four Mile Road at 7:10 p.m., said Sgt. Willard Reardon of the Richmond police.
Reardon said the engineer was the only witness, and police are still investigating what happened.
